Mission Accomplished...

Yesterday, Jitendra and I rode to Hessarghatta, spent some time riding in the trails of grasslands, and looped around the lake. Yet another ride to Hessarghatta, but the visit to grasslands made the difference. Jitendra wanted to do the 150+ km month end ride planned in BBC, yesterday, and I wanted to ride with him till Magadi, and return back, making a 100 km trip. All was set, but yesterday morning he had to drop the ride. Then we discussed, and planned to ride to the usual place, Hessarghatta (where else?).

A Ride alongside Two Lakes...

Yesterday, I suddenly felt that I haven't ridden out for many days. So wanted to do a ride this weekend (today), atleast 50 kilometres. The usual option is, Hessarghatta  again. Started with a plan to do Hessarghatta populaire route, and ended up riding 76 kilometres, the Madhurekere loop , which I had already done by  december 30, 2011. Four the riders - Aditya Joshi, his friend, Hari and I, started late around 0700 hrs. Aditya and his friend started slowly, but Hari and I sped up, reached Gangamma circle and were waiting for them for more than 15 minutes. They haven't reached and also haven't attended our calls. So the two of us decided to move forward. Hari choose the way through Byalkere peacock reserve. I spent some time in peacock reserve roaming, while he was tuning his newly fit pedals. Then we started riding in a fast phase, and reached the bakery before Hessarghatta, near IIHR road. This is the usual bakery where most of cyclists riding to Hessargh...

Unridden Trips........

My dad called me yesterday and said that he is travelling back home from Pune, and will cross Bangalore today. I wanted to meet him in KRPuram railway station. So, I thought of making a cycling trip around this visit, as I haven't ridden out after my March 1 Muthathi trip. Plan is to start by 0600 hrs, go to Hoskote, through Outer Ring Road(ORR) and NH 75 , have breakfast, come back 15 kms in NH 75 and reach KRPuram, before 1015 hrs, meet my dad briefly and return back to institute. I informed Hari about the trip, and he also was interested, and all was set to go. I even thought a title for the trip, '75 kms in NH 75'. Today, I woke up only to find that fever has increased a bit from yesterday's mild level, in addition to bonus pulses of head ache. Was afraid, will spoil fun if anything happens in the middle. So had to cancel the trip and informed Hari. I felt bad about cancelling the trip and unable to get sleep thereafter. This is not the first time I haven...

Cycling, and I..........

Image
It was my 6th class summer vacation when I learnt cycling. My parents put a condition that I could go visiting relatives only if I learn cycling and swimming. I learnt spending time in water easily but learning to cycle appeared to be a tough task. It took me a month and more to learn, with so many falls and wounds. But once I learnt, I found real fun in cycling. In my holidays, when my parents were busy in farm activities, I had to spend time alone because there were no kids nearby, of my agegroup then. So, I used to ride in the road in front of our farm, where there was literally no traffic at all. I did my first long distance ride (??) in my 9th class, when our school NCC organized a cycle expedition to Navakkinathu Maadhaiyan temple, in nearby forest range. The trip totalled 25 kilometres. After that, I got to commute with cycle to attend my tuitions when I was in 11th and 12th classes. After completing my 12th class, my dad gave his TVS XL super to me for farm related activit...
